Parker Design’s Creative Director, Mark Bowers, embarks on a 2,000 mile solo motorcycle tour around Great Britain to support MND (Motor Neurone Disease) sufferers.

On Mark’s Great British Tour for MND, he said:

“Late last year, both my Dad and another close family member were diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. It’s a terminal illness with currently no cure. The average life expectancy is 14 months from diagnosis (some longer, some less), and there is no real meaningful treatment yet available, only palliative care.

I wanted to help both the MND Association and MND Scotland by helping raise money to support MND sufferers, and carers and contribute towards research. I’m also keen to raise awareness of this awful disease.

To that end I will be doing a sponsored GB solo motorcycle tour and will be visiting all locations in Great Britain which host a primary MND care centre, or MND fundraising office. It’s going to be a trip of around 2,000 miles taking in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. At each centre I will meet an MND representative to sign off my visit, and be able to have photo opportunities with which I will be Facebooking and Tweeting [via @devilscrayon]. I will also be highlighting all my sponsors via social and conventional media as much as possible.”

Mark sets off on Saturday the 21st June and plans to finish on Monday the 30th June and will be staying with family and friends to keep costs to minimum.
