Ecommerce web design
With this ecommerce web design project, we not only delivered a sales-focused and cost-effective solution for LIMB-art, we also helped our client encourage audiences to embrace and be proud of their individuality.
Background
A British design and manufacturing company, LIMB-art is dedicated to producing prosthetic leg covers that are far from the norm. Founded in 2018 by former Paralympic swimming medalist Mark Williams and his wife Rachael, the energy behind the company comes from a desire to not just inspire pride in users of prosthetics and raise their confidence levels, but also to express their personality through the LIMB-art designs – to stand up tall and have fun, to show off a little.
Challenge
To deliver a cost-effective ecommerce web design and development solution that places as much emphasis on creating a competitive online store with zero cart abandonment and high sale conversion rates, as on presenting LIMB-art and its products in the most positive light, as true partners.
Solution
The new ecommerce website is visually striking and easy to navigate. From a customer experience point of view, the path to purchase is engaging and straightforward, which in turn has a positive impact on optimisation of internal links, search indexing and findability of the website.
The ecommerce web design relies on a contemporary colour palette filled with energy and freshness, the perfect canvas for LIMB-art’s striking designs.
The homepage leads with strong messaging and imagery, and a prominent call to action that invites users to find out more about LIMB-art’s story. A tiled structure immediately below introduces a snapshot of the wide range of products available.
Regardless of device, the website offers a seamless and robust online experience.
A looping carousel at the bottom of each page showcases engaging and detailed product images. Photography is a mixture of strong and confident or natural and familiar shots, always memorable – presenting the product as a hero, and immediately creating desire.
The ecommerce website integrates with a wide range of popular online payment methods, such as WorldPay and PayPal.
As well as elements common in any ecommerce web design project such as product pages and customer account sign-in page, the website also includes an FAQs page, contact form, and an engaging Blog page that helps our client get closer to audiences.
When updating product listings, prices, images and other content, our focus was also on usability – a user-friendly WordPress ecommerce CMS allows our client to make quick and timely updates.
Soon after the website was launched, Limb-art was recognised by Easyjet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and disability charity Leonard Cheshire for their great work helping users of prosthetic legs raise their confidence, be proud and have fun.
“We went live yesterday, and it all looks fantastic. I’m just going through everything in detail and I have to say, great job!”
