An award-winning digital annual report that offers a highly immersive experience which IFoA members can feel they own.
Background
In the words of our client, “As a membership organisation, our members’ needs are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why our focus over the past year has been about improving and enhancing the member experience.” And this year, that continuous development and refinement of the member experience extended to the organisation’s annual report.
Challenge
Moving on from the traditional printed format, our brief this time was to produce a digital annual report that would transmit a sense of ownership to every member. Going digital would also contribute to the strong sustainability efforts of the IFoA, an initiative very close to members’ hearts.
Solution
Working with a digital content creation platform, we created a report that flows seamlessly and immerses the audience in an interactive experience that gives them full control. By using a digital medium, there are no limitations to the amount of content: by doing away with the traditional page count, we were able to fill the digital report with content that the audience can navigate and scroll through based on their specific preferences or interests. The journey is no longer linear and prescribed, but fully tailored by every individual user.
The digital annual report is a highly engaging piece not only because of the experience from a user journey perspective, but also because every section and every piece of content comes alive thanks to subtle effects, video and animation. Not hindered by some of the constraints of print, content is deeper, and gives the audience the chance to explore.
Navigation is clear and highly intuitive, allowing users to engage in stories that are easily digestible.
Dynamic counter devices add a sense of pace, energy and progress to the digital annual report, where statistics come to life, focusing the attention of the audience and making them more impactful and memorable.
The digital format, fully functional on mobile devices, is not only user-friendly for the audience, it also allows for changes, if required, after distribution. The digital content creation platform also offers a full suite of analytics, with KPIs such as number of visits and other key engagement metrics.
