ME Group
Retail trade show stand
After over half a century of success in business, this retail trade show stand helped our client reveal the next stage of their evolution.
Background
In recent years, the growth of contactless and self-service technologies has revolutionised the retail market, for landlords and the customer experience as a whole.
ME Group provides automated instant-service equipment designed to make life easier and fill dead space in retail environments. An international leader in the sector operating in 19 countries worldwide, the company employs over 1,000 staff and operates circa 44,000 unattended vending units of a wide range of services and products.
Challenge
After 60 years in business, the company had reached the latest stage in its evolution – rebranding from Photo-Me™ to ME Group International.
Attending an industry-leading show in front of 11,000 experts over two days, we were asked to help our client reintroduce itself to the market with a pop-up in-store experience for three of its main brands:
- Photo-Me™: which provides HMPO*-verified photographic ID and fun photos to over 8 million customers every year
- Revolution Laundry / Wash.ME: over 600 automatic laundromats installed in supermarket car parks, petrol stations and shopping centres wash and dry all types of laundry, including large items
- Amuse.Me: dotted throughout the British retail and holiday park landscape, the brand is the country’s leader in IP** character children’s rides such as Cutie Cars™, Minions™ and Spydero™.
Solution
We divided the 6m x 12m plot into three separate areas to promote the brands. Despite each brand experience having its own, clearly defined section, they all integrate seamlessly with each other to maximise the show’s budget, thanks to an exhibition stand design that is open and welcoming from all angles.
A 12m x 6m custom printed floor graphic seems to spill down from the area walls,
adding a sense of movement and directing the delegate journey.
At the start of the project, we proposed different design options for the retail trade show stand…
…finally opting for a block design that maximises floor and promotional space in the shape of information panels and lightboxes.
We designed and built all the component parts that created the backdrops for each of the three brands.
The children’s rides were fully functional, attracting audiences of all ages.
Once the event was over, all components could be easily dismantled before going into storage, ready for the next show either as the same 3-brand experience, or as individual promotional stands for each brand. * – His Majesty’s Passport Office
