EITI

The EITI is founded on the principle that a nation’s natural resources should serve its people. The EITI works to improve understanding of how those resources are managed, strengthen transparency and accountability in both public bodies and companies, and make reliable data available to support policymaking and constructive dialogue across the extractive sector.

Countries that join the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) commit to sharing information across the full extractive value chain, from the allocation of exploration and production rights to the way revenues flow through government and ultimately benefit citizens. More than 50 implementing countries follow the EITI Standard, a shared framework that sets out what must be reported and when.
