Global finance
Change management animation
Designed to build internal buy-in around the launch of a new AI-powered initiative, we took an ambitious creative approach to deliver a visually immersive change management animation.
To help launch SubZero, a new AI-powered internal finance tool, we created a highly stylised change management animation designed to build excitement, generate curiosity and position the platform as a transformational technology.
Taking cues from Hollywood movie trailers, the animation combines a cinematic-style voiceover, atmospheric music, abstract visual storytelling and detailed motion design to create an engaging internal communications piece with a bold, forward-looking feel.

Building anticipation around AI
Developed for use across the organisation’s global finance function, SubZero represented a major new AI-powered internal initiative, marking a significant shift in how finance teams could work with AI. This finance communications animation would act as a teaser campaign for a wider internal launch, introducing SubZero as a powerful and ambitious new initiative without revealing too much, too soon.
Before rollout, however, there was a need to generate enthusiasm internally and encourage adoption amongst leadership and employees alike.
Rather than creating a conventional explainer animation filled with interface demonstrations and technical information, the brief was to create a change management animation that made the technology feel advanced, ambitious and visually distinctive within a traditionally corporate internal communications environment. The animation also had to avoid typical corporate visual language. Instead, the client gave us complete creative freedom to develop something more atmospheric, more cinematic and more emotionally charged than traditional internal communications content.
Positioning SubZero internally
The client wanted the animation to position SubZero as a major technological step forward unlike anything employees had previously encountered within the organisation. The animation design needed to communicate confidence, innovation and scale.
The script would retain an air of mystery – phrases such as “A wave is coming”, “This is just the beginning” and “Powered by SubZero” would create intrigue without over-explaining the platform itself. Because the script deliberately revealed very little about the underlying technology, the visuals had to carry much of the storytelling and emotional impact.
A change management animation inspired by movie trailers
We developed a highly visual concept drawing on film trailer aesthetics and futuristic technology narratives, using tension-led pacing, evolving environments and stylised transitions to create momentum throughout the piece.
At the centre of the animation sits the evolving SubZero identifier, which we developed from an existing asset into a more sophisticated visual system. Built around interconnected structures and flowing energy lines, the design represents the connections created across the global finance ecosystem, with finance operating as the central hub.
Throughout the animation, detailed particle simulations, lighting effects and abstract 3D environments create the impression of travelling deeper into an intelligent digital network. Inspired by computer chip architecture and sprawling digital cityscapes, the visuals suggest scale, analysis and processing power without relying on literal representations of spreadsheets or dashboards.
As the narrative progresses, streaks of light travel through increasingly complex structures, helping visualise the idea of AI uncovering patterns, cross-referencing information and surfacing insights in real time. Gold accent colours bring sophistication, contrast and energy to the animation’s predominantly dark visual environment, reinforcing the ambitious tone of the piece.
To amplify the cinematic feel, we paired the visuals with an AI-generated synth soundtrack structured around a gradual build in energy, with a beat drop timed to coincide with a major shift in the animation. We also deliberately selected a US male voiceover artist whose delivery helped reinforce the piece’s Hollywood-inspired tone, a slightly unexpected approach for the target audience.
Detailed development from storyboard to final animation
The project followed a highly collaborative creative process, beginning with script development and exploratory style directions.
We first supplied a range of visual approaches, including storyboard samples and animation tests, allowing stakeholders to review different tones and levels of abstraction before selecting a preferred direction. Once approved, we developed a detailed storyboard combining macro technology references, cinematic framing and visual continuity between scenes to create a strong sense of flow and progression.
Working in Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects, we built the final 3D animation using advanced rendering techniques including texture displacement and detailed particle simulation to add depth, realism and movement across the digital environments. We also paid careful attention to transitions, lighting and pacing to maintain a sense of tension throughout the piece.
The result is a change management animation that balances atmosphere, storytelling and technical sophistication while supporting a wider programme of internal engagement around AI adoption.
“The animation looks incredible! Thanks so much, nailed it!”
