To illustrate a complex process step by step, we produced an explainer video and animation that exceeded all expectations.

Background

H&T Presspart offers a unique plasma treatment process for the internal surfaces of metered-dose inhaler (MDI) canisters ensuring patients always get the correct dose of their life-saving drug.

The process prevents the active drug content from sticking to the canister wall, which could cause degradation of the can and alteration of the drug properties.

The surface energy performance of the internal wall of the can enhances performance of the drug in formulations where interactions with aluminium can lead to product degradation and reduced shelf life.

Challenge

As part of the company’s sales and marketing plan, plasma has become a key area of focus for the business, so our client asked for our help in showcasing the new process and technology.

The aim of the new explainer video and animation is to generate awareness of this area of expertise, attract new customers, and also to offer existing ones an enhanced solution for all their MDI canister requirements.

Solution

The new explainer video and animation we produced is a combination of film footage and 3D animation that shows the complex process in a way that allows audiences to follow it closely, step by step.

As the process of adding the plasma to the canisters takes place behind a closed window in a sterile environment, it was not possible for us to film that stage, so instead we created a 3D animation that brings that key part of the process to life.

Using Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects, each sequence of the animation is matched to a very specific part of the process. Taking advantage of simulation techniques, we created a gas effect and added microscopic particles of light to represent the plasma being added into the internal surface of the canister, helping make this explainer video and animation an extremely engaging and effective sales tool.

The explainer video and animation was first shared during a webinar with a live voiceover talking through the process. In the future, it will be used online and at exhibitions around the world with the addition of a recorded audio.
