The Tesco brand is incredibly well known in the UK, and when they were looking to extend the Tesco Opticians stores into Eastern Europe, Parker Design were given the brief to create a brand new retail point of sale design for them.
Working alongside Galaxy Optical Services, we designed a whole new concept for the retail stores, setting out to activate a much more upmarket environment, more akin to an exclusive department store than a value supermarket chain.
The deadline to produce the retail point of sale design design concepts was incredibly tight with the presentation in Prague arranged for only three days after we received the brief.
With no time to visit the store and take photographs, we worked through the night from architects plans to recreate the store interior with photorealistic 3D modelling. This enabled us to create different view points of the store interior showing the layout and the fixtures and fittings. We then designed and superimposed the signage and point of sale onto these views. The deadline was met and the new retail point of sale design we’d created was overwhelmingly approved. The stores are currently being rolled out across the Czech Republic.
