Exhibition stand design and build
The elegance and individuality of this stand design and build project helped our client generate intrigue and curiosity at a busy industry show.
Challenge
Galaxy Optical Services – a key provider of optical solutions for Tesco – commissioned Parker Design for their stand design and build expertise to create a chic, individual stand to help them present the latest range of eyewear and sunglasses from top fashion brands, Lipsy, Kangol, Religion and own label Truth at the MIDO Optics, Optometry and Ophthalmology exhibition in Milan.
Solution
In stark contrast to the traditional clinical-looking opthamics stands, we designed Galaxy’s 60sqm bespoke stand with black angled walls, full-length mirrors and soft pink lighting. This created the effect of a stylish ‘invitation only’ nightclub. To add some sparkle and glamour we designed custom glass showcases mounted to the walls to display the eyewear ranges.
This exhibition stand design and build was rooted in creating intrigue and curiosity. Visitors could see into the stand from all sides, but all entrances except one were cordoned off with rope and poles, enticing visitors into the stand rather than view from afar. This also allowed Galaxy staff to know exactly who was on the stand, eliminating the chance of missing important potential customers.

Once inside, guests were taken on a journey to each quarter of the stand, where the personality of each designer brand was represented in a unique way – using powerful floor to ceiling wall graphics showing stunning fashion photography, and the use of styled mannequins to bring the brand to life.
Following the success of the Milan exhibition design and build, Galaxy re-commisioned Parker Design to adapt and increase the design up to 84sqm, to include new brand Dunlop, and rebuild it for them at the SILMO opthalmics exhibition in Paris.
