Pharmaceutical infographic video

We developed a pharmaceutical infographic video that effectively helped AstraZeneca raise awareness of their type 2 diabetes drug, presenting key information in a clear, engaging and visually compelling format.

Background

Humans process visual information far faster than verbal communication – up to 60,000 times quicker. This makes infographics a powerful tool for both internal and external communications, allowing audiences to grasp complex messages much more efficiently than other communication methods.

Challenge

As part of AstraZeneca’s BrandWISE awareness campaign, we were tasked with creating a short pharmaceutical infographic video for the type 2 diabetes drug Onglyza™. The video was designed for display on large plasma screens across AstraZeneca’s UK sites. The graphical style and colour palette needed to align with brand guidelines, while ensuring the animation was engaging, impactful and easy to understand.

Solution

An existing infographic style had already been developed for pop-up exhibition stands, providing a strong visual foundation for the storyboarding process. By building on this established style, we ensured that the video maintained a consistent brand identity, creating a seamless experience across different marketing materials. At the same time, we adapted the design to suit a dynamic video format, allowing for fluid motion, engaging transitions and a logical flow of information.

We designed the video with clarity and simplicity in mind, ensuring that the message was easy to absorb for a broad audience. We used clean visuals, minimal distractions and concise messaging to maintain focus on the key points. The structured, step-by-step presentation helped break down complex information, making it more accessible and engaging.


With the storyboard and script approved, we moved on to bringing the static visuals to life, carefully transforming them into engaging animated scenes. We designed every element to ensure a smooth transition between key points while maintaining a consistent visual rhythm. To enhance clarity, we synchronised the animations precisely with the voiceover, ensuring that visuals reinforced the spoken message. This approach helped create a cohesive and engaging experience, guiding viewers through the content without distractions. We carefully adjusted the animation’s pacing to strike the right balance: fast enough to maintain interest, yet measured enough to ensure full comprehension.
